customer complaint

Post by eastie »

After delivering a few letters to a customer on one of my loops this woman came running out saying I hadnt knocked and she was going to ring my boss and complain.
I stood there confused and she waved a p739 at me saying,
"Your all the same, I read about you postmen not delivering parcels and putting cards through the door"
looking at the p739 she had it wasn't my writing and was from my P/L driver about an hour previously.
She then says " I was asleep when he called earlier, can I have it now"
After that rant I told her " To pick it up from the local office."
I was wondering after, how many times does this happen on P/L and gets put down as a customer complaint with the person thinking the p739 was put through with the letters?

it could happen on the old system of a walker and a driver going round doing packets anyway just a moaning woman ignore it

Tell your P&L mate date the packet wrong so the phg can't find it when she comes in and send her packing for been nuisance and accusing you, that will teach her a trip down to the callers office for nothing.

I take it you've never worked in the callers office, nothing staff like more than to deal with an irate customer
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Yep, as I said last week about that ridiculous Courier front cover, they didn't mention all the reasons why the CUSTOMERS ARE WRONG half the time with these complaints. It's total bollocks half the stuff I hear about, people need to turn their telly/music down if they are expecting a parcel, or GET OUT OF BED. That Courier article was so one-sided it was untrue. We as postmen need more backing up from management, but no wait, of course, the customer is always right.

As mentioned last week, it takes ages to write a card, all we want to do is get rid of the parcel and move on. The general public are dicks.

Similar thing happened to me Thursday right at the end of the duty and in full view of the driver.

Rang and knocked (as I always do because half the doorbells don't even work) and got no answer, so I wrote out the card and posted it with the mail. Loaded the packet back in the trolley, proceeded to delivery next-door and a few more houses after that. We then loaded everything into the van which took a few more minutes and headed back.

Handed the undelivered stuff back to the callers office where they said they'd just had a message from the women complaining about me. Went and listened to it and couldn't believe my ears - she reckoned there was no doorbell or knock, all she heard was the mail hitting the floor, and there was no sign of the postman. She then went on to say it was something for her daughter that she'd been waiting ages for. ;liar

People can be idiots, I've had one that complained............I was able to say what song was blasting out on the stereo and what they where doing during that tune.

I had one last year complain about me.
I'd gone up in the van and as there was nowhere to park on the road i'd actually parked on her drive, it was red hot so i had my windows down and radio was on quite loud. I knocked and rang the bell, no answer, so i 739'd her reversed off drive and went back to office as it was my last drop.
In the 5minutes it took me to get back to the office she'd rang up complaining that i'd put a card through and not knocked :arrrghhh

You've never seen a back scratcher before.....................and I don't mean that sort of back scratcher found in the naughty room.
