going awol

i intend to just stop going to work due to personaal reasons and go on a sea voyage how long will it be before i am sacked if i do not contact them

Why not just contact them and tell them you're off to see...the sea?

think long and hard before taking this course of action. a wage slip dropping through your letterbox every thursday is something a lot of people would like. whatever you may read on this site, royal mail are sympathetic to personal distress. good like for the future whatever course you take.

I have worked with some dreadful managers who have dealt with personal distress in a very good way and mangers I thought were OK acting like right c***s when faced with personal problems.
It all depends.
But if you are going to leave - why not just say you are leaving.
If you don't want to work at an office with your ex, maybe a transfer is possible?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

GOOD MAN,I jacked it last year after 25 years.Couldn't take no more.Walked out monday new job thursday.Never looked back
