pay protection

anybody know the answer to this? 3 years ago our night shift closed and we were placed on to days or afternoons (whatever was available} as i am in my 50s i was told i would retain my allowances until i am 60 (night and driving allowance) .The other guys would only get them for 3 years as they were under 50, have noticed this week that my pay protection as they call it has ceased, not seen other guys yet to check but have i a case? or am i wasting my time?

yes i was in my fifties when these changes occurred, i was not the only one by the way, and have since been in contact with my area
rep who informs me of changes to the mtsf agreement in 2008, but what concerns me is that none of us were aware of any changes, even when i asked another union guy he was not aware of any changes either. Confused and frustrated at the moment and my local rep is on leave AGAIN.

apparently there is no such thing as "grandfather rights " anymore they were super seeded in the last pay agreement , surprise surprise, sold down the river again. how come nobody knew about this except the rep. even our dom was surprised.

Not the union this time but are friends in house of commons and the introduction of the age discrimination act. So although MTSF had pay protection for night workers aged between 50-60 the act made this unlawful, so the default max three years had to become the max.

mtsf in perpetuity for over 50's has ceased. if you are over 50 you get 2 years mtsf, then the final year in a lump when you take your pension i think.

mtsf in perpetuity for over 50's has ceased. if you are over 50 you get 2 years mtsf, then the final year in a lump when you take your pension i think

yes you are correct except that you get the 3rd year in your final year from wat i can gather , i know it was not the union but more of a lapse of communication as we were told differently at the time
