Even more cut offs

Post by celerycelery »

Think today was the most cut offs we have had since our p&l started 8 weeks ago. No PIR as yet as dom cant release rep due to too many on holidays and too many on sick. Most of the cut offs today came back and dumped their full bags of mail on frame for the morning. How does a dom report this when a) he has no idea of how much mail was brough back and b) all managers had gone by 2.30 before any cut offs came back?. Also all packets were left for any walk that said they were cutting off. Yet again managers hitting our only growth market by delaying parcels/packets.

maybe an email to moya asking if a failure was reported today along with estimate of how much mail failed might fix things.......

They won't cut off at my office they would rather come in early and work their break the suckers, one pair of floaters cut off then the DOMS think they are dragging their feet when these floaters point out the other guys come in early and work their break they go deaf all of a sudden.

I'm with you there Ossie, Dont get me wrong no one played the job and knock card better than me on my piece of piss round - pre P+L :whistle :cuppa However post P+L I still hear guys moaning that the trollies are slowing them down and that they cannot finish on time ..... so ? whats the hurry, we have to be back to the office at a set time and no sooner and bring back what we cannot deliver, so what does it matter if the trollies are slow ? :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

I think the reason why this site does not get many comments on park and loop and cutting off is because of two answers. 1. Park and loop hasn't been introduced to them yet. 2. they come in early and work their breaks so they cannot comment and contradict themselves.

I know this is sounding like a stuck record .... Attend Office at start time (not before), work at a rate you can maintain throughout your attendance (75BS), take your meal breaks at the allocated time, as required take your relaxation allowance (personal needs etc), if you believe that you will not complete you delivery inform management before you leave the office >>> if problems occur during the round phone in (always have a witness if possible), cut off - flex - work OT to suit your own personal circumstances, follow Safe Sytems of Work at all times, use the correct tools for the job at all times.

In short do the job that you were employed to do and if mails are not cleared or delivered you cannot possibly be blamed.

One more thing ... report any B&H or undue pressure brought to bear immediately!

I suggest whoever idea it was to do P&L should go out and try it for a week and see how they get on, maybe they might think it is not such a wonderful idea after all :thumbdown

Why is weight off the shoulder & working in pairs in a RM vehicle a bad idea.
Other than you are less likely to make as much time as the old way.

To the CWU and its supporters there are many things to be applauded in BT2010.
Weight off the shoulder, removal of private cars on delivery, D2D into workload, 39hr week .......
To the rank and file the introduction of slower delivery methods and a botched attempt by RM to graft a savings agenda on to anything and everything, leaving a lot of members unable to complete their deliveries properly/at all, means P&L is less than satisfactory.
The change in culture from job and knock to work all your hours is so massive for most and has been handled so badly that the whole thing is failing.
It says in BT 2010 that everyone recognises the changes cannot be implemented without the workforce. The workforce aren't on board. It isn't working.
And while some of the blame lies with the CWU, it largely rests with the arrogant and ignorant RM managers and their team of failed planners.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

But what's the reason why the workforce are not on board.
Yet to be convinced it's anything other than stops early finishes(or as early finishes).
Yes the bullying from managers has increased, but a portion of blame for this lies with members who are still obsessed with making time & therefore "not doing the job properly".
Leaving those who do open to the usual bullying.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.
