Sorry but could you clarify the question.

Are you asking how much time to they have to give you to cancel your leave. The answer to that is a minimum of twice the length of the leave so they have to give you 2 weeks notice to cancel 1 weeks leave.

Or are you asking how much notice do you have to give when asking for leave. Normally its the same length of the leave - so if you want 1 weeks leave you have to tell them 1 week before.

In both cases there may be local agreements but the above is the basics as per the DirectGov website.

Your holidays are accrued over the full year,but allocated in advance so if you leave now you will only have accrued holiday from April to September(approx 6 months) or half of your 23.5 day entitlement.
You may actually owe them a little back.

You have only paid for half of it.
The cost of leave purchase is also spread over the whole year.

i was told you have to give 2 to 3 weeks notice,thats great its only a week.
