Excess Travel Payments
Have just found out I am surplus after our revision and looks like I will have to move to another office. Does anyone know what the current rates are for excess travel? Have read on an old post its 25p per mile but was wondering if its gone up since.

Yes this will be a permanent move to another office due to now being surplus because of our revision. It comes under the MTSF agreement which I have read but there is no mention of how much the current rate is. I think what you were paid is the higher rate. What happens to excess fare when days/hours of work increases? What effect has it got on the Displacement/Dispersal allowance (£9000 for full-timers)?

Its 25p a mile for a car. I went to a RM/CWU ETE meeting last week about it.

This is getting complicated. How do they calculate if your Excess fare payment is over the minimum £1250? Do they use the 25p rate per mile or the higher rate which I think is 45p? Basically I am going to be travelling an extra 65-70 miles a week in the car and in that case wouldn't qualify for a 5 year claim if they use 25p but would if they use the higher rate.Stormproof wrote:Its 25p a mile for a car.
