rest day working
Does anyone know how much notice we have to give, if you decide not to work your rest day?

Don't tell me your DIMs told you you've GOT to work your day off? Wouldn't surprise me in this Company!

Why?bringon4dayweeks wrote:is this a wind up ?mumphy wrote:Does anyone know how much notice we have to give, if you decide not to work your rest day?
When some offices moved to the 5 day week to boost earnings they signed up to working their rest day on Scheduled Attendance.
The same happened with some offices that moved to 4 day weeks.
It's not my particular cup of tea but each to their own.
Obviously if you want to stop doing SA you have to give one month's notice,it's in the SA Agreement.
Of course if it isn't SA.....

We had the option of working our rest day on SA rate, but now i want to have my rest day off, but we have to give notice. How do other offices deal with absortion?

did you sign an SA contract to this effect
if not, they cannot force you to work your rest day
just inform your line manager that you are no longer prepared to work your rest day.
that way they will have to make up another duty if enough people did that

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
