7 or 8 Hrs Docket?

I am on a 32 hr contract. This week I have been told I am doing a F/T rural delivery for 4 days.
My Rota'd days off are Thurs and Friday.
I have also been asked to come in on docket on the Thursday and have been told this will make my hours up to 39.
The IPS/Prep/Delivery is 8hrs on a Thursday.
My question is, if I come in on Thursday do I get my 32hrs contract plus 8 hrs docket or a total of 39 hrs.

Well would you believe it!
I went to see our Area Rep about this and he said that I will only get 39 hrs because of the working time pattern for the other 4 days.

I dont know what the 'working time pattern' refers to, but you just do 7 hours overtime if this is what they are going to pay you.

let me put this in plain english, if you have been asked to do an 8 hour duty and you are on a 6 1/2 hour day then you should ask your DOM if he is paying you overtime. If yes then you do the full 8 hours if you finish early then you only claim the OT you have worked, if you claim more then you you are in a bad situation if it gets investigated (just read the bottom of the OT sheet that you are SIGNING to see the consequences of false OT). If no then ask him if someone is going to part prep it otherwise you are going to leave some behind and cut off since why would you work for free.

In the recent past we always got a flat 8 hours for working a day off regardless of longs & shorts. In the last couple of months its changed to the exact time - 7.45, 8.00, or 8.15 depending on the day.

Yes but don't you have weeks were your day off fall son the short days so you work more than your 32 hrs? This should balance over your day off rotation period. You should be paid for however many hours you work on your day off. You do not work 8hrs for 7hrs OT

An honest days pay for an honest days work... If managers want to play "RM is a charity and posties are volunteers" tell them to go and brush up on their DIY skills!

The duty working hrs for this week are
Monday 7:35
Tues 7:35
Wed 8:00
Thurs 8:00
Fri 8:00
Sat 7:38
Total 46:48
All 06:45 starts.

These hours must mean it's impossible to work a straight 39hr week over 5 days! Over a period of time it must average out.
I will have worked Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs & Sat. Totalling 38:48 hrs. I will be paid for 39 hrs but still can't get my head around the
fact that Thurs was my day off and came in to do the delivery, but I am only getting 7hrs docket for a 8hr delivery. If I had not
worked my day off then I would be paid 32hrs as per contract but only have worked 30:48 hrs so I can sort of understand it! it seems that this duty is not
designed for a P/T 32 hr. contract!

Spoke to several other posties today and this has been happening for a while! This is with the Union's agreement!
When the office goes to a F/T working week of 39 hrs, and you are a P/T contract doing O/T, it will be coming to a delivery office near you!

They have just phoned to ask me to come in tomorrow, which is my other rest day, but have been assured that I will be paid
the 8 hrs!

you`ll get the 8 hours offered when theyre desperate for a duty to be covered.
If theyre only offering you 7 hours on a duty which normally takes 8 hours, I dont see how you would be able to complete it in time, but IF you can complete it, then youve helped prove the managers point.
