Fewer Door To Doors

Has anyone else had less Door To Doors to deliver lately ?
If so might it be the recession taking hold or might it be firms assuming attention wouldn't be paid to them while many people were following the Olympics ?

The last 4 weeks for me,3 Lots,4 lots,5 Lots and 3 lots this week.

Seems to be the same old companies sending the same old crap out every couple of weeks round here, nothing new ever comes in. But yes, it's quieter - last week there were none, 2 this week.

This door2dustbin rubbish, has no limit any more.
I've had batches of 4/5 right throughout the summer.
Too many people have deluded themselves that this crap actually works. Look at Virmin media, how much of that crap do we deliver, and yet, they are still nowhere near cornering their market.

I regularly deliver to three different blocks of flats with post boxes by the main door. In all three there's a huge pile or D2Ds which people have taken out and dumped on the window sill. No one wants it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong,but I thought that at the moment it is a maximum of 6,although I know that RM would like to raise it higher.

Also, is there much of a differential between Door To Doors for wealthy areas compared to deprived areas ?
Probably no way of knowing.

Not true at all. We get six D2D quite frequently and they come the same as any other time. I think the D2D coming wraped or similar will never happen because it would understandably not be popular with the customers.

Royal Mail only promised to take a look at the financial viability of automating D2D and only when growth reached the kind of levels where 6 was the norm not the exception...and they never did say whether that 6 was office wide,area wide or national.
Another case of empty words to appease certain sections of the membership.
Personally i wouldn't want to see them coming pre-sorted...sorting them is part of my job and i don't want to lose my job to a machine..

Yes i would say there is. My office delivery to a high earning postcode area and i reg get 4 or 5 lots. Have 5 lots this week.

yes i have noticed a decline in the amount of door to doors we have had over the last few weeks,but then again...it's the school holidays and i deliver in town..students have gone home for the summer...perhaps that is why we have none just now?
