Does Park & Loop work?

We start our P & L in a couple of weeks its alright looking at the bulky bag now of me and my partners but the drivers packets on the yorks are frightening at the moment. Any tips please?

NO it doesn't work....1 and a half years now......leaving 2 hrs work behind everyday.....6hr delivery!!

It all depends who you are matched with. For instance matching up a 20 year old man with a 55 year old woman with bad knees aint gonna work. Hence the reason late returns to office or dropped bags due to over-running delivery. But if you get paired up with someone who walks at the same speed as you, it works, and it aint too bad. But hey, its summer, it wont work in the winter!

yes it does if you plan the loops properly and forget about one being a driver and another a walker

you take the same with a little taken off for the driver of the van as he has to move it

you both work from the van and back to the van where possible

and you both take your packets and use trolleys

only very oversize parcels are delivered seperately

if you base your loops on 40 mins delivery and use the above guidelines then yes it works

and FYI I work in one of the hilliest terrains in the country and if it works here it will work anywhere!

No it doesn't work for many of the reasons given already.

It can work!

If the ground work as been done appropiately.

If a sensible packet count has been taken into consideration. Dont be afraid to change things around if you see areas that will be an issue.

I would suggest a little flexibility with your hours to begin with, if you are availlable for some OT. It does take a little bedding in period to get upto speed with a new frame layout and also the IPS will be slower getting to grips with the new sort.

50% of our p&poops dont work and this is summer they still are not going to change them after 12 months because it will cost money, they blame us then test them and then you dont get any feedback off them because they are too big.The parcels and big packets are left and done by a parcel van which is defeating the object.bring back the bikes.

contrary to alot of folks I think P&L is great (so far) but its early days and im on a great walk with a great partner ! as has been said its only the BIG packets that the driver takes, you should be able to get plenty in your trolly (if you have one)

Not all walks will get a trolly and may still use bags

Have been doing park & loop for 16 months now and I can honestly say that it works for us. No one comes in early, everybody is out of the office at a sensible time and 95% of walks are easily completed within the allotted time. Only occasionally do people cut off.

I wouldnt shout too loud about it cos two walks were achievable in our office due to it being an OAP area and they put another 3 roads on both due to low packet volumes

if everyne uses lwt it shouldn't matter how old or young you are, but they don't,so it does
