Part day absence?

Hi, just looking for a bit of advice before facing my manager in the morning...

Long story short, I went home early off delivery this afternoon (after 3 hours) due to feeling unwell, and was sent in to see my line manager before going home. She started quizzing me about previous absences and my current stage warnings etc, and informed me today would count as an absence. She also told me she'd already taken me off the rota for tomorrow which seems a bit presumptuous, and pretty much implyed I needed to take tomorrow off aswell.

I've found the Royal Mail absence procedure clarification document on this site which states that if I worked over an hour it would only count as a part-day absence and therefore wouldn't count towards a stage, but wondering whether that would mean anything to my manager since I cannot find that document anywhere else? Is it still valid?

Also, what rights does she have in preventing me from coming into work in the morning? I'm almost convinced she wants me off another day to ensure I go up a stage! I'll go into work no matter what if I know my argument about part day absences stands, but if it's going down as an absence anyway I might aswell just stay off for longer if I'm feeling unwell?

None.
She can however send you home if she feels that your continued presence at work is a danger to you or others.

Thanks for your help :) Any idea where I can find a full copy of the RMAP document with the part-day info on it? I'm preparing for a bit of a fight, it's how she likes to operate

You have to inform her the day prior to returning to work, did you inform her you would be back at work tomorrow?

Turn up for work next day if well enough. Part day absence does appear on your record but doesnt count towards stage procedure, unless you have lots of them. No need to phone in advance, just sign on and complete your day. My theory is that full days absences are covered by Royal Mail insurance so they claim for your absence. If you take a part day, still got to do a return to work interview mind, Royal Mail pay you as if you were there. Thought you had to complete two hours of your duty though before going home.
