In our office for the past week the dom has been doing 1 Min prep test( I have been on holiday) and then putting the results up on a revision board , but with out names on.
Today he asked me to do it which I obliged, after the 1 min test because I had a lot of missorts in mine from another office but I still handled them by puttng them into the missort box the dom said the test was void. I said it is not as they should not have been there but i still handled them and was not going to do the test again.
1. can he void the test.
2. are the results allowed to be put up on a board
3. Dom says this is for avergage offie only( I think he is playing with words as to why would he want to have the test redone)

Had the same problem in my office I believe displaying test results on the board is bordering on harassment I would either flag it up to your union branch or stick a grievance in
IPS tests are if I am led to believe are not worth the time and space managers believe they are, so take no notice because at worse if you fail they have to train you, no way can they discipline you.
NO bags on shoulders please except for Moya who keeps her big fat wage packet in hers
Any time I've had IPS test missorts are counted as mail and sorted into missort box. It's still incoming mail being handled as it should be.I don't see how that could void the test.
As regards posting results on the board: Even though there are no names, I still see this as harassment. Unless you're saying that nobody in the office, apart from your DOM knows who scored what. Our union rep is s**t-hot and I couldn't see him allowing something like this regardless of whether names are posted or not. This is making it into a competition and I would imagine that those with the best sorting rate will make sure that everybody knows it. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if your DOM ensures, probably in a subtle fashion, that everybody can identify the low scorers too. Even if he doesn't, most people will be identifiable through a process of elimination. It's the type of insidious harassment that can quickly lead to overt bullying if left unchecked.

I think you may be wrong. Initially they have to 'train you' but if you don't improve I think it can lead to conduct.

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Oh, I didn't realise it was a long road. That's ok then, don't worry about it.

You were right to mention it as it is a possibility.

NATIONAL AGREEMENT ON THE INTRODUCTION OF INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
• it was counterproductive and contrary to the aims of the initiative to use individual performance standards or one minute spot checks as a disciplinary tool
Training,re-training,more training...eventually,possibly,maybe non-culpable inefficiency but really unlikely as it's more hassle than it's worth.
More chance of getting you out with the attendance procedure in the years it would take to get you out the door with NCI.
I've never heard of anybody leave the business that way outside their initial trial period.
