having repick very shortly,high on senority list,got 2 park n loop shared van duties picked out.but cannot make my mind up .duty 1 town delivery 5 mins start from office total del points 1036,all houses .duty 2 rural large village etc total del points 958.12 mins start from office.
i know duty 2 has less delivery points but it gets more tracked bigger parcels etc than duty 1 and is nearly 10 mins longer to 1st delivery point than duty 1
what would you choose help !
oh both are 39 hrs full time.

Duty 1. Closer to office and thinking ahead to the autumn and winter months, less chance of disruption.

The closer a duty is to the office the more likely it will be lapsed.

no brain-er duty 2 loads of o/t if you want it and cut off if you don't win win there is nothing better then watching a manager beg you to work on and then you say no makes me smile every time

I would also pick duty 2, packets are really your friend these days, grow area and even though they do take longer, it all just adds to your due hours for that day

One of the biggest issues right now with how planners are building walks that are too long is because the packets data they are using is already falling behind reality, people are using the internet shopping even more in these tight times to save a few pennies, so if your attendence packet counts on the old walks are months out of date it will create havok for managers and posties doing the job properly.

So if your are in the know, choose the one that gets less packets, extra delivery points only make the difference on high call rate days (and in urban areas we should all be capable of delivering letters to ~3 houses per minute, depending upon the terrain and the path lengths to the door)... And on heavy days choose if you want to complete with o/t if required, or let your managers scratch their heads trying to find cut-off kings post revision who will more than likely be too shattered from their own walk.

Both 39 hours Full Time = No difference. Work properly and knock off on time...the rest is the Managers problem. On a personal note I prefer Rurals....always did enjoy a walk in the country!
