How do you text on a PDA to contact your DOM ?

For people that dont have a mobile

we were told that we can't use the pda to make or receive calls/texts etc!

The PDA has the ability to make calls. I think they use vodaphone system.

With the pda you can only call 999 the RAC or a 0800 number that let's you type in your site number and it puts you through to your office

Struggling to think why you would contact your DOM and is there anyone left on the planet who doesn't own at least one mobile phone?
I would only phone my DOM if it was the specific type of emergency that can be fixed by drinking coffee,spilling half of it on your shirt and looking at cars?

on the internet and there aren't many of them around.
If i do think of one i'll use my mobile and to hell with the cost.

The only option you have for a text is to the depot (you can't text an individual mobile with the PDA!)

Whether it appears on one of the managers mobiles or one of the office computers I have no idea?

I once replied to a dom message saying ring me urgently but it was ignored so i used my mobile.

the PDA`s will recieve texts from anyone but you can only reply to depot from them. also with calls its 999 and an 0800 number that they are locked to. if you lock the keypad you can still get 999 up by accident if the PDA is knocked in your delivery bag if your using them on walks.
