If your manager goes sick does he have to abide by an attendance procedure.

Yep it is harsh...........too much sick and you get promoted until you get a job that doesn't make you sick anymore :nervous

There was an SB (senior manager) off long term sick who was about to go over the 6 months and reduce to 1/2 pay but who was suddenly allowed to 'work from home'. While there is an attendance procedure for managers it can and is often is not applied to the letter ...

I think the rep in the office should be allowed to do the Attendance Procedure interview for any manager who is off sick.

We do not doubt the genuineness of the absences.
We recognise you have a disability according to the Equality Act.
We have noticed a pattern to your absences - 2 Mondays in 14 years.
Stage issued.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

does that mean if you were not in the union i.e. not represented by the cwu, you would be under a different procedure.

No.
OPG is a CWU represented grade.
It doesn't apply to the individual,just the grade.

Ah! According to dingo there is about to be a Fourth Stage, which will be informal and precede the First Stage - I'm not sure if you can appeal against the informality or if it's before the return to work interview, which believe it or not I may have misguidedly thought was informal. :angel

Unless that agreement is seriously tightened up it could be an infinite number of stages because from my take on the agreement a manager can more or less invite you in any time he pleases for an "informal chat".
