Buying Holiday?

Next years leave forms are soon to be issued to us , how would I go about requesting to Buy a extra week? I am on a 30hr contract rolling ? how much is deducted from my wage is they a form to fill in. We have a new Manger who is having enough trouble Manging but is very good at giving blank looks.

just tell your DIM that you want to buy another weeks holiday and you will start seeing the deduction from April.
you dont need to sign anything, just tell him.

buy the extra 7.5 days and it will cost you 3% of your weekly wage ( 6 weeks holiday )
buy the extra 5 days and it will cost you 2% of your weekly pay ( 5 1/2 weeks holiday )
buy the extra 2.5 days and it will cost you 1% of your weekly pay ( 5 weeks holiday )

I would go for the 6 weeks ( you will pay around £8.50 a week ish )

Lets say I purchase extra annual leave and get to book a week of it in the first week of January...

Presumeably I will not receive any pay in that first week of January (besides any overtime from the previous week)?

you are buying extra holiday pay for yourself, so you will receive your normal weekly pay for the weeks you are having off the same as normal holiday pay

your DIM only has to tell HR in Sheffield before march 31st for it to count for the next financial year, after you have said yes to it you can't change your mind until the next financial year is due.

thats all I did and it went fine, but then I did have a decent DIM at the time :)

tell him to download the puchase of annual leave form from the intranet, the cutt off is around the end of february not the end of march

I joined RM on March 28th and asked to buy up and got it in my first year, after all its only a click of a button :)

the cut off for existing staff is end of february, its not just a click of a button unfortunately the dom needs to fill in the appropriate form and send to hr at the start of march each year
