Royal Mail ID

I've been waiting for a couple of months for my ID now.

My shift manager took my picture and then said she'd send it off to HR to get the ID done, but somewhere along the line I
think this has been a balls up.

Is there any way I can cut out the middleman i.e. shift manager and arrange to get the ID myself?

I finally got my ID 4 years and 2 months after I joined RM.

I just got a new one last month but it doesn't work i spend alot of time standing around at gates in morning waiting for someone to let me in my old one worked fine but expired

A lot of our office waiting as well. My id card expired in january. More worried about my lack of new trousers. Lack of crotch is more than a bit embarrassing. Do you think "i can't work in these, phone me when my new ones arrive" will work

Do none of you challenge your managers about why tasks as fundamentally simple as this don't get done? if you're going to reply with "it doesn't do any good to complain
or keep asking" then push it! If people aren't doing their job properly they need to be challenged, don't you agree?

I have one but it serves absolutely no purpose, except the lanyard is good for my HCT keys.

Mine is ready apparently after six months in the job, the only thing we need it for is getting on the American air base we deliver to.

I don't see the point of it. No-one is ever challenged for ID at my D.O. We're expected to challenge strangers, but every one's a stranger. We have a different manager every week. Besides, what if someone is going postal. Challenging them is a one-way ticket to the grave. More than my job's worth to do that.

Ours are used to unlock the entrance, I thought it was the same for everyone.

in glasgow we need to have ours to get on the bus. i delivered a full round the other day, soaked to the skin and thats with a waterproof on. waited 20 minutes on a bus. coz i didnt have it with me he said 'rules are rules'. had to wait till the next understanding bus .wish i delivered his mail. rules are rules.

We have a keypad to open the doors. Card would really be a lot more useful because our DO is on the high street so any druggie can see the code as you type it in.
