overtime limits
Hi, does anyone know the correct overtime limits at present?

Didnt know there was one,i have worked my week off before and got 48 hours o/t no problem

I don't think there are any upper limits, unless you have refused to sign the opt out, or you are a professional driver.
There may be localy agreed limits but what legal status they would have ?????

Only time I am aware that there are limits is at Xmas and I think this is a local agreement

I wouldn't have thought that there would be a limit on the amount of you can do
However it can't cause you to breach the working time regulations where a 48 hour working week is enforced (and this 48 hours does include overtime)
so for example as I work 25 hours a week I can't legally be allowed to do more than 23 hours OT a week
These times are averaged out over a number of weeks (17 I think) so you can do more some weeks and less other weeks.
you can opt out of this by writing a simple letter along the lines of
Dear Captain Pugwash
I agree that i may work more than an average of 48 hours a week, and if i change my mind i will give you xyz weeks/months notice

we can knock up 40 on top of full time hours easy ( gunner slow up a bit cos suns out !

8hrs per day is the limit, 16 on rest days with psp
