Is there such a law ?

I tried to book couple of days off at work today wth my 6 days left of annual leave for Scottish Salsa Congress (For Monday) in January, Switzerland Zuriich Congress in (For Monday) February, and 3 days for Malta salsa congress in November.

But no I have to have it as one week off as it is the Law according to Royal Mail. As everyone have to have 1 X 2 week annual leave and 2 X 1 week off. But don't forget most employees have 1 week off in 6 weeks at work. So I can't see why I can't have my day off when I want them. Is there such a law ? As I don't want a week off.

I like to see the rules if possible and evidence of the law.

theres no law that cover this

the reason that royal mail and the union want you to take complete weeks is if you took 1 day in january 2 days in feb and 3 days in march then potentially upu have stopped others from taking complete weeks, and the majority of staff currently want to take complete weeks of annual leave and not days here there and evrywhere all year

but someone got to take them, thats why everyone takes complete weeks, if i had the choice i would use my days for saturdays off, so that i never had to work any saturday but that wouldnt be fair to others if i got to do that

Got an idea which I will do a deal. Then work out how to do another deal for other option.

I have booked the week off and make a deal with a friend so he can watch Wolves away and only work on Monday for this. I told my friend if she need any days off in my week off ie week before let me know. So then I can get favour returned for Scottish salsa congress.

The Dom told me he will not let anyone book a day off as it spoil other people holidays as they couldn't get full week off.
