Refused Light Duties

Had to come back to the office today because i couldnt physically do my walk because my foot was in agony.(just been to docs and apperently i have got a foot infection and have to have all the skin on the ball of my foot removed).

Anyway i assumed i would be put on light duties but apparently there is no work for me. I have been told as im not fit to do my duty i must go off sick. Is this right? Also there is another bloke in my office who has something wrong with his foot but he is on light duties? Surely this is discrimanation?

I would normally be happy to go off sick but i have had quite a few days off this year sick and havent had any back to work meetings for ages so i dont know what stage i am on? I dont want to go off sick and trigger a stage but it seems thats what they want. I am on holiday for two weeks after sat so how will that work if i go sick?
Bit long winded i know but any advice would be appreciated.Cheers.

is there a DO anywhere near you that you could do light duties at.

I work in a very small DO ( 35 walks ) and there was no light duties available at a time I needed them, so I was offered some at another office.

To be honest managers had the right hump with me for coming back to office and there attitude was if you cant do your walk then f*** off home on the sick, no room for discussion really. I kept saying i didnt want to go sick i just wanted other work rather than delivering because i honestly cant do it with the pain in my foot. I am gonna phone them tomorrow and i will mention about light duties elsewhere .

Probably about an 1 and a half hours by public transport(dont drive) maybe less. whats hacking me off is the fact that others are on light duties all the time for anything. Its one rule for one....

Had the same thing before, when I'd genuinely made the effort. Fair enough it's a pain in the arse for them, but that's no excuse for treating you like a c*nt.

Do you know how to make several cups of coffee a day?
Do you know how to use a computer and more importantly play games on one?
Do you know how to walk up and down the office floor(looking serious of course) and scream at the top of your voice...everyone on sorting,excluding family and friend club members who must throw their overtime walks out which excludes them from any sorting at all!

Asked to be referred to ATOS,they can't refuse you,but in the mean time yes you'll have to go sick.
Managers don't like light duties unless it's forced on them,fecks their budget up.
