... so I knock on ... I seem to get one every week - it's even more fun when there's no answer

other good ones are when you go to put the mail through the letter boxes and the door fly's open cos its not shut properly, I just pull it up but don't close it just in case.

had a customer a couple of years back who left their door ajar so I slipped the mail onto the carpet and carried on.

got there the next day and they asked me if the door was open when I delivered the post, I told them yes, and they told me that they had gone to London for the day and arrived back at 10pm to see the door had been left open all day long.

I see this alot too i used to knock and wait and if no answer try leave keys with neighbour but as a reserve now i don't give a f**k basically as i don't know who lives where,i know this may sound bad lol but its not part of my job.I spotted one just last week terraced house i knocked but kept on walking delivering rest of street nobody answered door not my problem don't wanna get involved.

i had one the other week no answer so left then under plant pot left a discreet note saying were they were..... 2 days later big box of chocolates and rang the office to put in a compliment

I just make sure door is locked and then push them through letter box - - and if that's the only set of keys they've got - hey ho ... it's when you see key rings with car keys on as well

(Never had a compliment - guess most peeps are too embarrassed to 'fess up - but I know where they live )

Not long after starting I knocked on someones door to tell them they had left their keys in there.

I've seen it a few times, but can never be bothered to interfere/pry/investigate. If the keys are in the door by way of somebody's stupidity, on their head be it. I've found that people generally have a very dismissive attitude of any (genuine) attempt at helpfulness, hence my laissez faire attitude.
