with the exception of a couple of lads in my office(who i drink with) i would not trust anyone else...and that includes some CWU reps we have...just get the feeling that if they could drop me or people in it(outsiders,who are not in their friends and family club)..they would...sad thing to say,but that is the way not only i feel but i would say most other staff members i have talked to feel..who seem to all say the same thing...''watch your back'' and keep your head down...
In my previous job(Building trade)..never had this problem or feeling..went out most nights with the lads i worked with..clubbing it..having a laugh..built strong friendships(which still last) with people i trusted..working at RM...it's hard to know who to trust nowadays...dog eat dog seems to be the theme...not only in my office,but others too from what people tell me....what a lovely company to work with....

After a number of years in the armed forces, I find the lack of trust is down to the lack of teamwork, too many people being ''jack'' and just looking after their own duties.

No matter where you go people always gossip about their workmates but never worked anywhere before where the second part of the above statement is the best thing you can do in work. I went out in a van a few weeks ago with an agency guy. Had never spoken to him before that day but while driving he proceeded to tell me my life history. Stuff others had told him about me. It was all bull but i thought it amusing that someone i'd never spoken to before was obviously having indepth conversations about me, with "colleagues" who were obviously telling him a pack of lies.
I trust a couple out of about three hundred staff. Says it all really. I tend to keep myself to myself most of the time, as the amount of bitching that goes on behind people's backs is depressing.
We come to work each day from a different lifestyle...we all have different attitueds and dislikes.....
Many get on well together with the odd exceptions ..... there will always be the black sheep amongst you that takes advantage of situations to their benefit and theft is sometimes a opportunity that some take advantage of..
Some will act according to how bad a situation becomes......pass the buck and watch your back the work time party game...
In our office its just everyone for themselves really, if theres any chance they can get away with doing nothing they take it. One or two are known to steal from friends too so who knows what happens when no one is looking!
In my opinion it is all down to how the workers are managed and we all know that the quality of managers nowadays are pathetic hence why this topic has been posted
In my office all line managers are failed posties whom recently enjoyed a nice fat bonus, dose not make sense does it?
NO bags on shoulders please except for Moya who keeps her big fat wage packet in hers
camerderie went out the window when the 5 day week came in. all of a sudden everybody thinks their getting shafted with rturns on their day off. dont get me wrong the 5 day is the best thing to happen, but thats when the camerderie went out the job.
If book any extended OT then just 10 mins after ive told the guy on the balance i ve got some fellow postie moaning at me calling me lazy as they managed to finish on time
I trust one or two but thats about it.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
