Households

Post by Knackered »

We get far too many Door to Doors allocated to our duties ie: I have 1799 delivery points, yet I am often given up to 700 excess door to door. Our DOM has now said that even though we have delivered to every address once...any excess door to doors have to be delivered again and again until they are gone. We are now told that on Saturday all the excess door to door in the office will be distributed to each walk and delivered again regardless of whether they were for your walk or not. There will be no extra pay and no overtime is to be incurred. The DOM also says we are NOT paid a door to door supplement...it is an early shift supplement and that the Union screwed us in the last pay deal.

This is obviously a load of B.....ks but we have no union rep in the office and a very lax area rep.... People were delivering up to three times over this week. Because management can not/ will not sort out the count properly..." We will no longer send the excess back to the client, as we do not want to upset them. All excess will be delivered regardless."

Is there a document covering the correct procedure that I can produce.?

ask moya.............let them know what your manager is doing because it is wrong and they'll be in the s**t if they get caught (tbh you shouldn't be getting 700 excess D2Ds but that's your managers concern, not yours).

Sorry gonna say ut, u have 1799 delivery points? Bollocks

U get 700 surplus d2d regularly? Bollocks, the number of d2d u get is determined by the number of delivery points u have on a plus, I think something a miss in your story

This is starting to happen in some places - hope the CWU react quickly to it.

The Dom is correct in that there is not D2D supplement - but is wrong that its an early shift allowance. Both the D2D payments as was and the Early Shift Allowance were combined in the BT2010 discussions and the Delivery Supplement was introduced (Along with other less generous supplements for other functions). Sounds like your DOM cant read or unmderstand the agreements he should be working under and is making it up.

The A Plus needs updating - keep asking him to do it because he cannot introduce a revision or even plan on a weekly basis without an accurate A Plus. The A Plus details are used in various marketing plans by Royal Mail and by our clients so its important to have it correct all the time.

Not on being told to deliver excess D2Ds, but the Union should be acting on it soon......... I Hope.

"I have 1799 delivery points, yet I am often given up to 700 excess door to door" but the quantities are printed on the bundles or boxes and if you've got 1799 delivery points then they should total 1799 not up to 2499. :Very Happy If not ask for a print out of the delivery points for your round and check whether it's officially 1799 or up to 2499 delivery points. :Very Happy

 No--often there are too many! This subject has come up before. As for taking them out again and again---refuse to do so!

There are too many D2D's coming in now,I'm a reserve and the rural I have been doing this week has something like 230 delivery points but each D2D I have had (5 different lots) have been banded up as at least 250 items per each D2D,therefore 20 over per each D2D and before you ask there are no non domestic properties on this walk.

As for taking them out again,no way, most people don't want them anyway but are too lazy to do anything about it.

I thought they were not counted but were based on a weight estimate.

No machine will individually count d2ds

He might mean a park and loop walk, most of ours are 1500 plus and we also get far too many d2ds,either that or someone is dumping them on our frames.

Even for P&L 1800 seems well over the top. Ours are averaging out at 1200 and there are still cut offs/excess. The singletons (driver & HTCs) are just below 700.

The last I looked, any excess should just be binned. Tried to get us to deliver the excess in our office and I told them i wasn't spamming people with shite.

Probably correct.

There are machines out there that can do it. either optically, weight or "pin and blade"

However, doubt that RM would invest in it, or ask producers to split them correctly.
