Doing a Collection after your Delivery?

We all had to sit in a brief 10 min ''meeting'' with our DOM today who announced that we will shortly have to empty any Postbox's anywhere on your duty every Saturday after you have finished your P&L, we have been told we can only empty them between 10am and 1pm and have to be back in the depot before 2.30pm for the dispach, this is the first i and everyone else in our office have heard about this, is this all part of the ''National Agreement'', and does our Union have any say in this?

Yes, if the PDA says it's been collected on time then the Delivery Office has emptied the box on time and in that sense it's not a failure.
But if the public sees 'Saturday 11am' on the box they believe that first class posted by that time will have about a 95% chance of delivery on Monday when in fact it's a 0% chance, which is a serious failure.

As you empty the boxes on a Saturday but they go nowhere til Monday afternoon then you are wasting your time emptying the box, the public are being misled and on the box it should really state "Saturday, No collection"
