Driving allowance

Do you get a driving allowance for driving a crew bus i have to drop 4 people of and bike and bags? I drive the 6 seater ldv maxi.

They put a stop to it in our office when P&L came in its probably part of the delivery supplement now.

But you've got to drive it for the whole week to qualify so all they do in our DO is swap them around.

does it go by weight of the crew bus or is it any crew bus?

I think it goes by weight and the reason why I say that is because we had an omv that WAS 3.5 but they modified it to come in at 3.3 and the driver ws unable to claim the allowance - but hey, in the present climate who is to say they are screwing him too!

there is a allowance for driving a post bus, but these are few and far between, and different from crew buses. its all down to weight, some offices get away with it by calling the omv's high tops and staff get the 28 quid, but managers are becoming more cute, and anything under 3.5 get zilch, or 6 quid reserved rights if you've put a few years in.

Why the heck should you get £27 for driving that ? One and a half thousand pounds a year . Not as if you are driving a 40 ton artic is it ? PS I drive a transit . No extra for that ?

They are screwing him. Court cases have gone through against that practice and RM lost and many had the allowance backdated and reinstated. You are entitled to the allowance still because the duty is still the same. An office resign to park and loop would probably trigger a change because there would be no 3.5 tonners to pick onto but then those drivers would be entitled to pay protection for two years under mtsf.
