Is the notice period for leaving definitely 1 week?

I've seen this covered before but wanted to double check if 1 week is the notice period you have to give when leaving as a p/t postie.

Finally got another job, just have to pass the medical and drugs/alcohol test then I will be handing it in.

There are worse jobs around than this but it's no job for life unles you want to have knackered knees/feet/back and look as weathered as fishermans friend.

Never posted much on here but a good source of info and heartening to know other people get s**t on by management too!

Didn't think I'd said I'd done well? Just glad to finally have the chance to move on after 4+ years.

Who know's I may hate it but there's only one way to find out and I can only see things getting worse at RM the way it's being run ATM.

Good luck but you still going to be a worker just another outfit pay your mortgage off that is when you enjoy work regardless what job you are doing

Worked on the rails for 5years, just associate the drug+alcohol and medical with it

The problem with being a postie is the way the company is run makes it a lot worse than it needs to be, but the flipside is that you get to job and knock and I've never heard of any other job like that. I'm sure they'll find a way to do away with it eventually though but good luck to all you posties and I hope things get better! I won't miss being out in all weathers though.

Are you able to say hand in notice on a Tuesday and therefore finish the following Tuesday ? Or does it have to be a Monday and finish say the saturday ??? Thanks

All it says is 7 days so it wouldn't matter.
To be honest if you got told on monday you could start your new job on tuesday there isn't much RM could or would do to stand in your way.

Ok many thanks for that ! After lots of workplace stress due to all the crazy changes etc and nearly 13yrs loyal service iv had enough ! Can't see any redundancies on the horizon in delivery either so could just be hanging on and feeling worse !
