stress at work

Hello, I have been on medication for stress for a few months, I haven't yet gone sick from it but im feeling I do need some time away from work. I work at a place where most ppl come in early and I just come in on time and work my hrs and cut off but I feel under constant pressure to complete. I explain to management why I can't and they just get moody with me. Anyways how Is stress dealt with by royal mail?

This is going on all over the country where park and loop has been introduced.It sickens me that just because you only want to work the hours you are payed to work and finish on your time that rm mangers make you feel that it is your responsibility to work on.When the truth be told it is there fault as mangers that they can not manage your work load.Maybe one day they will actually hire proper mangers unlike the wast of space we have at the moment.

I'm thinking of just carrying on doing what I'm doing now and if managers keep having a go I will put in a complaint about them, just my fellow workers anoy me too and they nearly all come in early and throw in their d2ds on a Saturday when they get back, now how sad is that!

happens all over , just tell whoever that they are stressing you out and making you feel unwell,
mgmt hate it and know they must act, go to the canteen and tell them you need 5mins to yourself
nb. mgmt need to act on your problems stress, bullying is widespread in this company and its going to get worse
i have been on anti d,s for 2 years and high bp pills as well due to rm,s mgmt policies
when i feel down or they stress you out i just say if you keep it up im going back to doctors and if i do i will be off for months they soon lay off

As I'm writing this, half my office is probley in already and that's a hour early, I just don't see why people think they have to come in early just to get done. Mugs the lot of them!
The problem is with management now, there is no common sense,i give up trying to help them. I tell them I won't be able to complete because it's too big and that if I didn't have to sort I maybe able too, but they still say up on sorting please.

Totally agree. The early people, runners, docket kings get the pats on the back but somebody who just wants to do their job, stress free, in the hours that was chosen by Royal Mail gets shafted. I can only speak of my office, but the change in atmosphere and attitudes because of park & loop is demoralising.

I'm feeling under a great deal of stress these days. Myself and my P&L partner do everything by the book use the trolleys take our full break etc, then approach the management and inform them we won'e be able to complete. In all honesty I used to run about like a lunatic trying to get everything done but I've had enough.
I have childcare issues and have to be home to pick up my daughter from school, when we tell the mangement we won't be able to complete we're told that they don't believe us and that we can complete including the lapse, once when we left some behind i over heard the management saying "if they come back early they'll be sacked" your doomed either way, you do the overtime and they question it, In our office they've even refused some people telling them that they should have completed on time so we won't be paying it.
They try to bully you into taking the whole duty out, if you do questioned about it, if you don't you find yourself being followed by management, it feels like I'm being watched all of the time. I really don't need the stress, what is so wrong with wanting to come in work to your time then go home, our union rep is against returning mail to the office and when i raised the subject with him his answer was "oh we don't want to go down that street" then i read on here that other offices allow for it.
I'm finding myself extremely stressed out these days as I have to be home for my kids, i got put on family friendly hours which is a waste of time, even with that when i approached the manager and told him about it his answer was "why, can't you get someone else to get your kids after school, or can't your elder son watch your younger daughter?" it's like what the hell?
sorry for going on about this just so fed up with just wanting to finish on time, keep thinking this "go the extra mile crap" but every bloody day? i don't mind doing overtime if it's a one off but it's every sodding day :/
