What can I do??

Hi guys was just wondering what you lot thought of this?

My gf is pregnant and had a mis carriage last year, well about 3 months ago we had to rush to hospital as she had bleeding so I had to leave work but thankfully everything was all fine.

Now she's coming up to 5 months and she woke up in a great deal of pain so I rushed her to hospital and sent manager a message explaining.. Now why I'm in the hospital I get a phone call from a relative of old age saying my manager was banging the door down scared her to bits he's quite a big manager and asked where I was and said he will be back!!!!

Can I do anything as I think this is unacceptable and harassment.

Talk to your Rep.

As you had contacted your manager I do not believe he was within his rights to visit you at home, if he needed an update he should have phoned you.

I do not doubt your story at all however some managers become mistrustful of all staff if they have been conned in the past ... and sadly a minority of staff do make things difficult for the rest sometimes.

A proper manager would never act like that........

A charge of Harassment has to considered and unprofessional conduct seems on the cards...

So people should never be managers.... managing people is not easy, but can be done with respect .... dictating and demanding is often the simple options managers reduce themselfs to........

Completely unacceptable behaviour.

As suggested see your rep and/or Area Rep and bang in a grievance.

Also if your family member was genuinely upset I would get them to write a letter of complaint as a member of the public.

employ a solicitor & bang him to rights
please remember a manager will shaft you before you fight back!!

I'm not sure where managers get the idea that they can turn up at your house without prior agreement.
They have no right to do this under any circumstances whether you contact them or not.

Dreadful! I go back to the days when if you were off sick, if a manager came out at all, it was with a gift of flowers, and a sub of your wages! Concern was genuine then!
Again, to echo everyone else,complain about this.

Not quite. Yes a manager went to an address of a family member (not confirmed if its the posters address as well), but did not threaten I don't think. However, what is shocking is that whatever the Manager did, it apparently caused the elderly person to become concerned about something, that in itself is bad enough.

Why didn't you just ring him in the morning???

It would of been a lot quicker than sending a tex...... And now you wouldn't have this problem as you would of spoke to him in person.......

I think at the time work was probably way down the "Things i really give a s**t about today" list.

Because I was rushing my girl to the hospital and did not have time to ring him, but if I did ring him all I would have got was cant someone else take her as he did this 7years ago when I had to take my 1yr old daughter to hospital.

He did not threaten her but he was demanding answers from her which at this point she had no idea what was going on so it made her worry about me also scaring her as she thought she had a parcel as he was from the royal mail..... She had to lock all the doors all day coz he scared her so much.

Also how does it stand I have had 2days off as she been in hospital do I take them as leave??? Or unpaid?
