Just wondering if I'm the only one who does this....
In the week I can get up as early as I need, no problems and work solid. I go to bed early enough and get enough sleep to feel OK the next day. But when it comes to a day off I feel so completely knackered I end up wasting half of it sleeping. I could sit down and just sleep for a couple of hours without even trying. It feels like I've not really had a day off sometimes as I'm just recovering from the last few days at work!
Anyone else find their day off is a recooperating day? I don't think there's anything else I can do apart from some energy drink during the day but I dont really want to get into that just to get through the day.

On my day off I'm always up early with the baby to give my Mrs a lie in and abit of a break. Yaaaawn

Energy drinks are pure glucose (it'll be called dextrose on the ingredients, but it's the same thing). I wouldn't use them, either. They spike your insulin, and are released into the bloodstream so quickly that the negative effects can be profound (diabetes, raised blood pressure, up to four times increased risk of sudden cardiac arrest). I have instant oats out on my round and mix them in with milk. Oats are a slow-release carb and will ensure your energy levels stay high throughout.

Yes it's the same for me, a much needed recouperation day. I try explaining to my other half and friends that even though it's my day off I just don't want to do anything cos I'm knackered they can't seem to understand it?!

Hmm same as me Judgee, I think we must been working too hard haha. Just a pain in the arse sometimes - I feel like I've done a long days work instead of just a few hours!

i suffer the the same and then some.
knackered on days off and when i go in to annual leave i end up bedridden for several days with all the lurgy i thought i had managed to avoid

Best solution...... have kids, they don't understand the concept of dads day off. Wouldn't change it for the world though !
