Dear Colleague,
Digital Photography Competition
The CWU has today launched a digital photography competition as part of our informal learning project. This competition is open to all CWU members and their families.
Our Learning Reps have enabled Hundreds of our members to undertake Digital photography and Photoshop courses. The opportunities offered by mobile and Smart phones mean that many of our members have a digital camera in their pocket to record the world around them.
This is a new an exciting opportunity for our members to share their skills and abilities. We intend to publish a fundraising book containing the best of the entries and I encourage members and their families to take part”. The overall winner of the competition will win a £200 gift voucher.
The winning entries will be judged to be the most visually appealing interpretations of the brief, capturing on camera the spirit of the chosen theme and their overall impact and composition. Digital manipulation is acceptable but not necessary.

Entries should be sent via email to learn@cwu.org by midnight on the 1st November 2012. Entrants must supply their name and email address. We regret that we are unable to accept postal entries.

It might have been sensible to advise members that taking photographs on RM property requires written permission from DSM level or above.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The idea is to dig out our members talent, lets face it the company arent interested in whether you have a brain cell or if you have a talent or passion. I wouldnt think that taking pictures on royal mail property wouldn't be very exciting either. When it says world of work I think it wants you to be imaginative so possibly pictures you've taken while out on delivery or collection or within the learning circles. constructive and positive ideas would be better
