So David Cameron thinks his big society with hitting people on benefits will be the answer. The Achbishop of Canterbury is correct in saying it is a load of waffle....

More so is the fact that Tax Aviodance for high earners and businesses continues to be allowed to continue in any form by Camerons Government. Legalise the rich to have the ability to pay less tax....what system of government is that..... an injustified legal scam. Everyone knows about it, so what is Cameron etc actually going to do about it...Meanwhile even less will bother to vote for a system that allows tax aviodance....whats the point...?

The public want action to stop all tax aviodance schemes. What big society allows massive greed at the top, and pressures the low paid and those on benefits.... maybe the focus should be on a fair society instead, just as many families work the best they can on their income, with the majority on 25k or less.

The trade union movement seems to go along with it all as well as no fight from The TUC etc is ever heard from them.

In a court of law surely it would be deemed as discrimination of one sector of our society against the the rest of our society. How long can this be allowed to continue...?

Meanwhile keep paying your full amount of income tax.... and be proud to do so... and don`t let the high earners think we are stupid.

Nice to think that if Jimmy Carr ever gets married, and has kids, those kids of his will be able to go to elitist schools, with the best teachers, best facilities, best equipment going.
And all paid for by taxpayers like you, like me.
But YOU try getting your child into one of these elitist schools, let ME try getting my children into these privileged enclaves of middle class education, paid for by US.
The rich in this country take the piss out of working people, almost as a matter of routine these days. They pay less tax than we do, they send their kids to elitist schools that me and you pay for.

Makes you think where the TUC stands regarding tax aviodance only for the rich..

Maybe they will be acting in our interest as union members, and kick up a fuss via the media and demand cameron to stop the blatant discrimination against low workers who pay all their taxes.... some high earners pay only 1% as reported on sky tv.

The easy thing to do would be to put an end to income tax and increase the vat rate, no one living in this country could escape paying their fair share. Maybe this idea is to simplistic

Llabloke I didn,y say that the rate should be 25%. That was just for illustration purposes. The rate could be 15% it could be 30%. It depends on how taxation as a whole is levied. For instance, national insurance in my mind could be withdrawn and a new tax raised to cover both income and national insurance. Yeah I know employers also pay NI but again getting rid of all of the different lines of tax and charging a flat rate must be more simpler to maintain and understand.

change the system, get rid of all taxes and have one, tax the land, this is not poll tax, basicly the higher the land value the more tax, inner london high value, higher the tax. Developers would lose out big time and large land owners, smaller the house less money, living in flat less money. Took me ages to get head round it,

The tax revenues are going down...

So why are tax avoidance schemes encouraged...?

It must be the wheels of government and business that creates our corrupt society......and the whole power of the trade union movement is sitting in the corner, asleep, and covered with cob webs..... maybe my subs could be put to far better use...than giving money to a labour or any other government that forces me to pay more income tax than some others... ?

Rich people would shop abroad because they could afford to while the rest of us that are stuck here would be screwed.

Also Cameron and his cronies are reluctant to do anything about tax avoidance because the people that bank role the Tory party are likely exploiting these very same schemes.

I think is now well recognised that we have poor and corrupt banking system in the UK....

The government now and the past have failed to even start do anything about it, is why greed prospers in the uk at the top.......

The fact that we are no longer a big manufacturing society means more rely on a financial means of making money from money. Those that have not got money to invest in making more money suffer the most.... and the wealth gap keeps increasing to a point, when a growing amount have little or no financial worries at all..... and look down on the poor folk struggling........
