Our office will resign in a few weeks, but already some staff have submitted letters to dom telling him they cant go on different duties for various reason. Will these people be allowed to keep their duties or will they have to be offered medical retirement?

have they applied for flexible working? this is always a can of worms. get ready to put in grievances if seniority is bypassed and thats the side of the argument your coming from. 1 manager i use to deal with always said " i have a duty of care to my staff" and used this to bypass all agreements. keep the dom on his toes by quoting the way forward now and again.

your lucky your having one.we had are revison over 18 months ago in and we have still not had a resign it a joke.but then when your rep has his duty sorted what do you expect him and his family are sorted with dutys thats what matters.

report him to your branch. have a vote of no confidence in him. report him to the area rep/div rep. don't let him get away with it.

have reported it to the area rep and nothing happen.i know some of our office don't want resign but the national agreement says we should have one but there you go that's why some of us have pulled out of the union

What does it matter to you what other people are doing? If they have genuine reasons (health or family) that require special consideration it is none of your business. They may have problems covered by the D.D.A. and your interference could be seen as discrimination or bullying. Far better you worry about yourself and leave others to do as they need.

if its a management led revision/resign, job selection should be by seniority, those with flexible working, equality [dda] issues should be addressed after resign has been completed.

I was under the impression that it is automatic.

its all down to how many duties have altered. way forward agreement will give all the guidelines.
