my dom came out with me to test my duty last may,it was timed at 4 HOURS 37 MINS and this was summer remember,we are in the process of starting the revision beginning of august.THE PLANNER has said my duty span from 1st to last letter is 3 HOURS 10 MINS.are these planners on the same planet or what.

They tested numerous rounds in our office and they all went over some an hour over and guess what they still do and nothing been done only harrassing the guys to work over and not cull.

what you will find is its not the planner at fault, its your dom, he has not put in all the paths and internal building lengths into the mapping tool, the planner doesnt do that, its your doms job, also check the speed settings they are using also do you normally use a hct as that is a slower speed than walking in the program so if you do use one and they have calculated as without that could account for discreprancy

Very true plus you're not given the time to actually sit down with the planner to go through the whole duty. They want you to complete your duty and do the updates/planning which is never going to happen.

not to mention all the other things we're required to do now beyond just delivering the mail.

They are inhuman. Not of this world. An alien species. That is the conclusion I've come to.

Our office was ruined last yr and now about to have a resign - yet no rounds have been tested or looked at !

Waste of time trying to help planners.
I spent a whole day counting steps up to properties as a lot of mine had 20 + steps and housing complexes and flats with 2 or 3 floors, old peoples homes with 60 del points and after giving it to the planners they did diddly squat.
I for instance, Georoute showed me going to the front of the housing complex and that was it , I spend 20 minutes in one complex delivering mail and they thought I delivered the lot to the front door
Another one they didn't allow for 50 houses on my round with 20 steps up to the property, the whole system is flawed and they are being pressured into completing office revisions and are not interested in individuals

no office is alone in this madness. One office in glasgow took six months before manager and planners admitted They needed more hours in the office and that was all the posties working together and failling everyday. Other offices like mine where a handfull of people do the job right and the flappers are still flapping god knows when if ever this crazy system will be fixed. Dread going to work now
