Raising a grievance
I am a postman working with 8 collegues in a small SPDO just outside Cambridge. I asked my manager if I could take a driving test so that I could help deliver any of the packets that seem to mount up over the Christmas period, this would help to clear up the packets in our office and also provide me with a littl bit of overtime ,however, despite asking more times than I care to remember and also asking my union rep, I am still waiting 35 weeks later. What i want to know is how do I Raise a grievance against my manager or is there anything else that I can do (I really don't want to Raise a grievance as he is a nice bloke !) and are there any repercussions ?

Driving test? Is that a change over test to show that you're capable of driving a RM or a proper driving test?

Changeover test. I passed my driving test many many years ago

Moved to union room,and WBryant,you are uninsured while driving a Royal Mail vehicle if you have not had a change over,and your screws would be for the high jump if it ever came out.

The changeover will only be done if it's needed, if your manager doesn't need anymore drivers then he wont train anymore up. But on the brighter side, with your office eventually closing and being moved into a bigger one many miles away, you'll have to be able to drive to get out to your delivery so.............you will be able to drive soon enough.

only took four years to have my changeover done and I was driving a 600 on day 2 lol
