bags on shoulder ???

just had a methods revision (4weeks ago) its a shambles ie walks going over ,mail brought back ,now we are being told we can make small bags up and use them from the hct and a shared van is this allowed i thought it was all about getting weight of our shoulders???

Don't forget that the max delivery span for "bags on the shoulder" deliveries should still be 3.5 hours, whether van share or not. In fairness you'd be better off using the trolleys and letting the DOM worry about how to deliver what you leave behind.

once you have gone through a work methods revision the equipment deemed for each delivery is mandatory.
only time bags should be used is for flats (5kg) or areas of high security.
get on to your area rep and let them know a.s.a.p.

All they should have to do is look at their work colleagues who have been with RM a long time and assess their health problems, if that isn't an incentive to use the trolleys I don't know what is.

When you say mandatory, does that include all the managers drafted into our do to clear up all the cut offs ?

No, The Managers remit does not include delivering mail so why would they be included in a rule for doing so. What you need to do is make sure that all OPG work performed by Management is accounted for and that alternative arrangements are put in place for ensuring that sufficient OPG's are available for that work in future.

I doubt that, it is being pushed through in many offices as we speak, too much money has been invested in the idea for it to die. What may be dead soon is Royal mail as we know it.

Ask anybody of using LWT's if you have to use it , then use it if NOT then carry your bag the real use for this piece of equipmentis to RELEIVE your weight off the shoulder if you don't realise that & consider your own H & S then it's your body that will fall apart. THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
