if a member works a 7 hour 48 min day what is the latest time that they should have there break ?

I dont think there is anything concrete except that you're not supposed to have it at the end of your shift.

The rules on this are, well confusing to say the least.

Royal Mail rules say you are entitled to 40 minutes of breaks and that it can be split 20/20 or taken in 1 go.

The statutory entitlement is 20 minutes if working 6 hours or more and that it should be taken somewhere in the middle of the working day.

I guess as long as it fits in with the statutory and Royal Mail rules anything is possible.

20 mins should be taken as near as is practical to the middle of your working day,this is covered by the working time regulations.
Breaks should be scheduled and agreed as part of a revision process.
Any un-agreed changes to meal breaks should be dealt with by your rep using the IR Framework.
