A change of role?

Has anyone here moved from being a Postman to another role within RM - such as working in a mail centre and so on? Or has anyone moved FROM another role to this position? Just curious as I'm pretty much about to throw the towel in with this job but there aren't many other jobs out there around here, so I wondered about trying something different where I am?

And no - not a management role, please don't degrade me by suggesting that haha

You could try DOM support, PHG Locker, Mail centers, but there isn't much and the way things are going there will be less. The current economic climate isn't that good, but there will be more opportunities out there than in RM. Look at what you want to do as another job and start to work towards that, so if it means getting qualified, then you need to find that out how you will do it. Look at your transferable skills , and if you need to retrain, remember that your never to old.

Thanks Markis, I've been thinking about re-training. The current climate is playing right into RMs hands, but thankfully there are still a few of us who can rise above them.

Thing is I used to "oh well at least I've got a job" but that's no comfort any more. The bullying and piles of work just grind you down slowly.
