Does georoute really know every street?

Have huge concerns over some of our proposed HCT routes. Some of the streets are steep, some have steps to every house and some have both. Does georoute accurately know what incline or decline a street has and how you do it and does it account for all steps up to a property and back down? Or does it just give you an alloted time for a delivery point and thats it.

course it does its unbeliveable it also thinks that every customer is in waiting for the recordeds and packets and opens the door straight away it also thinks your name is usain bolt and it thinks you have transportation by helicpoter to your walk

The little georoute man that runs up and down every driveway of every house on the computer only runs to the immediate wall of the house, not the side of the house that many houses have delivery points, also they do not take into consideration of steps in flats etc

In other words georoute is a waste of time

Planners and Management don't have a Scooby Doo, I have explained the issues we have had in our 1st week with terrain issues apparantly geo-route knows everything in my case computer should say no

I've read a number of times on this forum that planners tweak some of the variables for a walk to take account of steps or stairs, which implies georoute does not have an accurate map of the country's streets and the properties on them (ie, one based on reality out on delivery). Planners are living in Flatland if they don't go out and actually see the terrain.

Whe we started our park and loop a year ago and we had to take trolleys out we said about safety issues being away from a trolley as some roads had 20 steps up to each houseso we had to leave the trolley at the bottom of the steps and when it was mentioned to the planners they didn't have a clue about steps and we were asked to fill a form in stating how many steps per property.
So in answer to your question planners think all rounds are flat

No, Georoute assumes we all live in Lincolnshire/ Holland.
During the revision process local knowledge re: terrain, steep slopes, steps and other hazards is supposed to be factored in during consultation with planners.
In our office the then DOM steamrollered the whole process through, with the result that we've been going through living hell for the past 14 months... New DOM has just started a complete new revision, as there was no way that the original would ever have been signed off. Let that be a lesson to DOMs everywhere!

yes all houses are terraced, streets flat and tuesday everyday
seems that way with our revision

we are having revision. we cannot use htc's so they say we can go to small golf trolley type. I have objected saying they cannot be utilsed either. H&S coming to our office to look for themselves. issue is when you went through revsion why were the difficulties not objected to then?

I push my HCT up the steepest hills you could imagine, one right outside the office, and at least 3 more for at least 300m, as well as stairs to every house up on one side down on the other... how long until my knees give out?

Does Georoute really know anything.. No, it assumes all walks are equal and they all get the same volume of mail, it assumes all walks are flat, it doesn't understand flats (leave trolley unattended, I think not), it assumes all streets have nice broad pavements with even surfaces and no clutter.

Put another way, it knows f**k all, just like the planners and RM hierarchy.

As for some comment about objecting and providing input - we had the chance to provide input and yet half of it wasn't acted upon, what else would we expect! Can't use a trolley where there's flats and yet they plan a walk based fully on trolley use, we tell them hills are too steep but that's not possible.

Georoute in my opinion can produce anything the planners/management want it to produce, take my round for example it was revised last year two loops were worked out to be approx 40 minutes each (driver/passenger) management decided the duties were too small though they were just about working (dependant on mail/packets)
They moved five terraced houses from one loop to the other this created 15 minutes to do packets in for the driver, take in mind georoute prevously worked these loops out as equal then another manager looks at it and makes a magic 15 minutes from 5 houses, what do you think a managers opinion would be if i informed them it took 15 minutes to deliever mail to 5 houses?
