Transfer question

Does anyone know if you transfer to another office and you've originally had a 40 hour contract, does the office you're transferring to have to give you a certain amount of guaranteed hours?

As far as i am aware ,you continue with a 40 hour contract and you take your seniority with you aswell ?

Re the hours, if he transfers to an office that is only advertising a 25 hour vacancy he won't get his 40 hours, so unless there is a full time vacancy he won't get his 40 hour contract, seniority does transfer though

I transfered a few years ago.I was on a 40 hour contract but the DO I went to only had 25 hours.At the time it was a question of take it or leave it.Having said that Some other people transfered in who were on 40 hours and got 40 hours.Hope it helps

When I transfered, I was on 40 hrs, 5 day week. RM had to oblige as this was my contract. The office was still on 6 day's, but i still worked 5.

Hi, it was about 7 years ago, but it should be the same. If you have a contract, they have to abide by it. The only thing I did lose my driving allowance, as I was put on a cycle duty, even though they promised me a driving duty. Speak to your area rep. Good luck

Errrmmm Justdeno,RM do not have to oblige anything,if someone wants to transfer into another office RM do not have to give the same hrs by default.

i think justdeno is slightly confised but is actually slightly correct also, i think his point is old office was on 5 day week and new office hadnt changed from 6 day week yet(rather than a change in hours), thats just like if he transfers from an office where by 39 hours has been implemented into an office with 40 he stays at 39 hours until the other office has had their revision

I think the confusion is over compulsory transfer due to office closure/merger and voluntary transfer.
If you ask for a transfer you get offered what they have going,if you don't like the sound of it...you don't take it.
There are no guarantees on either type of job or hours.
