mis-sorts and undeliverable items

Just wondering what is protocol for mis-sorts or udeliverable items.
i've had several people sort my mail or even when i do it so when i'm delivering there are a few mis-sorts. Which i normally take back to the office. Very rarely i offer to re-deliver some on my way home.
I just wondered what am i supposed to do with this mail... and what do others do with it?

i deliver if its on the way, but if say i had mail in my last bag for my first part of walk i just return it. can i get into trouble for returning it... is that classed as willfull delay? i feel quite guilty returning it.

Think this has been in here before?, I normally post any missorts esspecailly if I'm within my time.Like you I feel guilty about not posting them.
Though others in my DO will bring back.

endorse them missort, rts, or whatever the reason is and put in a post box

It really depends on your finishing time, if you still have time to deliver them then you should be but if not then you should endorse them as directed by you manager/trainer

actually these are mis-PREPS not mis-sorts,and you should attempt to deliver them if you have time to do so ,however we were told that lapsing takes priority,so just endorse em!

if theyre mis prepped then obviouslly they might have redirections/keepsafes for them

for that reason alone you should bring them back to double check.

I just put them back in the frame and deliver them the next day.

Just bring them back, can't be helped, we had a full bag check one day and he just noted down 3 missorts so long as you write m/s on it. Only superhumans don't have them!

I take them back endorsed "MS" if I don't have time to deliver them. If I do have time then I go back and post them to the relevant addresses. Yesterday, as an example, I took eight missorts back to the office. I have had a manager whine at me about them before but I explained to him the intimate relationship between the clock on the wall, the hours I was contracted for, and my willingness to work beyond said hours for the sake of a couple of letters.

But to cover your arse they need to be fully endorsed:
Missort - no abbreviations
Date, walk and initials.

mark them miss-sort, date time, and name...?

i've not had it mentioned yet, but the boss doesnt like having mail brought back, so i know other people go out and re-deliver it if i cant.
i normally deliver it, so normally dont have anything when i get back, but its a bit of a sting when i got one in the last bag for first part of the walk... i will always re-deliver packets though. in my car.

sometimes i'll try and hide it under my pouch under my bench, but stopped doing that, because i think i'll get caught. But no-one has explained to me what to do with them. And it does happen.
no-one else seems to come back with mail.

Reintroducing mail back into the pipeline is potentially a sackable offence.
I think it specifically mentions it in the Security Book.
Don't tell me:
None of you have ever seen the Security Book (it may have different names in different locations) and you've never signed it.
