Missed final collection, is it wilfull delay?

Hi guys, I was asked to do lapsing today and although I thought I had a map in my bag, it turned out it wasn't there. Basically, I was lost in an area I didn't know and it took me a while to find my delivery point. Anyway, after being stitched up by one guy sending me in the wrong direction :vcfo I finally got correct directions and managed to find my way. Then after a ridiculously long walk to the bus stop, (I get two busses home btw, I live a fair distance from my DO and walk), I decided then to get some food between busses cos I was friggin starving! After enjoying a meal and recovering some energy I had to wait a half hour for my bus.

Point is, after all that, I missed final collection at my local pillar box that I usually put my mis-sorts/deads in. With the bank holidays next collection isn't untill wednesday. Am I at risk of being accused of wilfull delay?

Blue pouch? What are they for? I've seen people using them but never knew what they were for?

Yes, nobody ever told me about blue bags. I've been doing it for months.

Blue Bag - it goes back to your local DO (theoretically ) - otherwise any "loose" mail will end up back at your local mail centre - so it might take an extra day to dribble back to your DO - no big deal if endorsed ... that's as I understand it anyway ...'

2. You posted them back.

As long as the reason for endorsement is genuine then you should have no problems. SOME areas use a blue bag, some dont. We do and sometimes I take it out sometimes I don't - if I don't then I endorse the reason for return and take to a PO or to a Post Box.

Job done - in my estimation you have done nothing wrong and should enjoy the rest of the weekend +.

No need to contact your manager.
