I don't know of a particular number you can ring but I can tell you through personal experience that previous service should be taken into consideration when calculating annual leave entitlement under 'The way forward' agreement of 2000 (section 4 I think). However, despite the HR colleague agreeing that is the case so far my entitlement has yet to change to what it should be.

Your best bet is to get your DOM to contact HR as they are more likely to get somewhere. I hope you get somewhere quicker than I am.Let us know if you get anywhere as I am sure that there must be other colleagues in the same position.

someone put a link on here for it ( don't ask me where it is , it was a couple of years ago ) i just cut and pasted that bit and printed it off , i had previously done 20 yrs , then joined again and had done 3 on top of that took it into the dom and said 'there you go , i'll have my six weeks please ' and to be fair he never quibbled about it , just amended my service details in front of me

I've always been told/led to believe (wrongly?) that once you leave the company then you lose your seniority. There are a couple of people in the office that are returnees and they've all lost there seniority.

Can you point to anything in writing?

seniority you lose thats fair enough but a/l entitlement should include previous service

get your dom to email hr and they should sort it ( regarding a/l entitlement)

be aware though they will want proof of your previous service - I had to provide my first and last payslip from the period I worked before ( yes I am sad I saved them)

without it - if they don't have records then if you can't prove it you don't get ( as my mate found out) apparently they don't have alot of records!

Get your mate to send off to data protection(will cost him a £10 but would be worth it)and ask them for his personnel records.simples.

really? I'll tell them! they have been paying for extra leave for years when their combined service is over 20 so would stand to get quite alot of money back if they can prove it

I too had previous service, have'nt kept my payslips though. Would my previous pension information be proof? Can't be bothered to trawl through previous threads so does anyone know when the A/L entitlement goes up? is it 15 years?
