compulsory meal relief

Been told that compulsory meal relief is coming in our office ( me and my partner on P/L always take it so dont affect us and cut off )
As there is only about 6 in our office that take meal relief out of about 40 and the DOM turns a blind eye, you can imagine the outroar when they were told .
Also anyone coming back to the office before finishing time will have to do cut offs.
Should have seen the early starters and runners faces they were a picture.
Also doing any favours is now a definate nono, no delivering a disabled old ladys packet to the woman next door that you have done for 10 years.
Docket everything as we are not a service anymore.

As I understand it they can only make you take a proportion of your meal relief (10 mins I think) this is to comply with your legal right which they have to give you if you work 6 hours in one go. The rest of your break you can take any time after it is due, that would include at the end of your duty. You are also entitled to take that break anywhere you like, i.e. away from your place of work. If they still insist that you must take all your break tell them that in that case you will be needing full facilities to wash up and toilet facilities in order to satisfy H&S needs. If that means that you need to go back to the office, then that's what you should do. remember your break only starts when you are away from your place of work, so travelling back to the office or wherever they deem your designated toilet /clean area to be does not count as your break.

they can tell you your not allowed to take your bag out of the office for example or say not issue pouch box keys till after meal relief taken, there is lots of little things they could do if they didnt want you to be able to do any work during your break

This is on P/L in pairs after revision and not working on your own, job and knock like before revision

Not 10 minutes I think but 20 minutes for those working a 6 hour day.

we have pt who start at 0930 and are on a meal break till 1000 there duty is supposed to be prepped and pulled out by the css operators BUT it dont always work out like that.
great system its like a carry on film at ours EVERY morning

It is easier for RM to place a lunch break prior to commencing delivery and typically 40 mins , should people not take their break then clearly RM assume you have not enough work as you have completed your duty before time and so have every right to either send you out again or get you on IPS etc until duty time completed. CWU will not defend you if RM insist on working to your time as that is what they pay you for.
Take your break and save jobs as if you continue to return early another duty will go and you will have to absorb
