9 day fortnights or 1 in 4 Saturdays

Hi was just wondering if any offices have any of the above working practices in place and that are working?
How did you go about achieving these as both our office rep and the manager say it is impossible to implement.
We are a small office which has 48 members of staff, 33 full time and 15 part time 4 of which work afternoons.

Any help would be greatful so that I can show both the rep and the manager that they are wrong.

just under a third of our office on 9 day fortnight. No its not really working because they took too many hours out of the office and made the duties too big but the same goes for them that stayed on the 5 day week. Been on holiday for a week only to be told when i got back that the area manager is trying to get rid of 9 day fortnights because they are not working, the area rep is supposed to have put a disagreement in. They will try anything to prevent you having the 1 in 4 sat because its harder to manage and to make savings we had a battle to get them, now it seems we are going to have a battle to keep them. Just tell them you want it. They put it in the agreement, its the only thing we gained. By the way the extra days off are GREAT worth the battle for more time away from the s**t hole

Moved to 2010,might get some more answers from those who have been through it.

we're an office of around 23 staff we have norm sat sa duties, 2 that have every sat off, 6 people on 'wallingtons' 6 days on for 5 weeks then whole week off i'm on it and it's great the rest are on sat sa but get every other sat off so 1 in 2 if we can do it why can't you ???????
