cheeky farker…

Post by thecyclingexpostie »

doing p&l with a bloke who, like me, is part time. he's getting some ot for coming in early to double-prep the frames (the usual incumbent is on holiday), and the cheeky bugger wants me to come in early (unpaid) to help out, and to stay late (unpaid) to prep the d2ds because he's earning yet more ot delivering some extra stuff. :no no

not only does he fail to understand that he might be coming across as a piss taker :d'oh! , but he's also fallen for the output of the office bullshitter and accordingly thinks only the person who collects the keys from the locker can drive the van :left: , and that there's a 'trial period' that you risk being put 'back' on, if you're not up to the job :Boo hoo! (this gem came after explaining that by coming in early, unpaid, all i would be doing was doing us out of any overtime we might have earned by finishing after time). this came from the same office bullshitter who has, in his time also tried to get me to believe that if you are slow prepping, your p&l partner can go out on his/her own and leave you  and that you're not allowed to leave d2ds in the frame even if there's no addressed mail (a practice universal in our office) if it happens to be on his frame on his day off…

if partner f***s about tomorrow, rather than try and do the job in the efficient way the usual person and i do, on wednesday i'm going to let him do it by the book and he can take the van and do all the parcels, even though i'm faster than he and we get back to the van at the same time, despite his smaller load (usual practice is for us to decide who's likely to finish each loop first and allocate the van accordingly). :whistle

The office bulls***ter is right about the van keys the driver who signs for the keys and does the daily and duty vehicle checks is the only person allowed to drive the vehicle, he is also right about the door to doors, if they are prepped into the frame they should all be delivered even if you don't have mail for the house

The D2D thing is common practice by the looks of things in his office, the bloke is bullshitting, yes apart from the driving thing, the bloke is a knob.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

You are right about the bloke being a knob and the D2D thing happens in my office as well but only if you are one of the manager's favourites if you are not then you are threatened with wilful delay for streaming D2D,you really need to be careful about leaving mail in your frame

well he tried asking again today, saying he understood what i said but… :cuppa

i told him that the way to get overtime is to ask the senior management if they want you to finish or cutoff. if the former, tell them how long it will take and they'll either have to agree to it or face cutoff. he, like others, goes and asks for overtime from the junior management, rather than the method i've outlined, and gets told he can't have it (hence he wants me to do his job for him) :d'oh!

Tell him you've outlined the problem to the elders of the RMC and after learned deliberation he has been pronounced a piss-taker and a bellend.

well the silly bugger crashed the van last night on some ot (not his fault of course, even though he turned right into oncoming traffic :left: ), and today surpassed himself by forgetting the one special we had, requiring a return to the office :d'oh! to crown it all, he waited for 20 minutes at the wrong place for me to meet him after the first bag :arrrghhh

coupled with the fact that one of my kids has come down with something, requiring me to watch him while wife picks the others up from school, we ended up cutting off; something i've never had to do on that walk :mad

thank god the regular full-timer is back next week… :nana
