hey Guys not really happy at the min :( I have been with Royal mail now since Oct 2011 and recently had A pay rise too! last week or the week before we had A meeting with one of our line managers and an email came in from above and told us fixed term contracts will be chopped to 30 hours A week. Last Friday I had my pay reduced and now I have been keeping note of my hours worked. I'm A member of the CWU and I'm still owed for hours I had worked last week say 40 hours and even my day off!! this makes me angry as we work hard and they now owe me!!!!
every day now A line manager told me to write down the VAC as 2 hours overtime per day for example 630am to 830am each day to make my hours up. Anybody else in the same boat?
takes the *****!!! I want to work and enjoy my job!!!!! :)

Work your contracted hours only, if your now on 30 work only 30 and make sure you inform your rep what is going on

just work your hours mate. managers just want sumfing for nothing. as for the extra hours you done, take it as a lesson learned. dont help the managers out by coming in early or working over, they wont think twice to geting rid of you

I have been put my mind to rest ;) they say each day getting the 2 hours VAC each morning will but be up to an 8 hour day so just keep going forward...our new CWU rep is going to fight for our owed money that we worked the week before the chop came into play! I started in october 2011 was on 6th month 40 hour contract...then I was sat down with line manager and he extended it for A further 3 months and had my pay rise the 27th of april which was nice and friday the 4th was the first cut pay packet!! makes me sick I have worked my ***** off since october!! RM if you can see this it stinks!!!!!!!!

hahahahahaha thankyou you have made my day lol VAC is the code on the overtime sheet that's all I know! RM has so many secret codes it appears and prob so much money tucked away?

Manager's cooking the books Keith,it's not an actual VAC,but looks better on paper.
They cut the hrs then pay out regular docket,you couldn't make it up.2 hours overtime per day for example 630am to 830am each day to make my hours up.

well until they put me back to my 40 hours VAC is the way every morning 630 til 830am 2 hours A day....cough cough if everybody came in on the 30 hours A week cycle the work load would not get done!! in the 8 hours and the original posties would be p******* I should imaginekeithposty wrote:VAC

so be Aware newbie postman/women! looks like the 6 months is on full pay and then after down to A 3 month contract til the possible van shareing era kicks in? I guess one good thing most of the time it's always busy...packets on the rise! the union are helping sort out the cut hours and money to be owed!! cheek of it!!
