The general public, don't you just love them ?
I am a collectons driver and get totally peed of when emptying boxs with D2D s in them ! What sad sods walk all the way to a postbox instead of putting them in the recycle boxs. Do they get a kick out of it ? And the other favourite is when you see crossed out , not at this address ! OH yes you are , its a letter from the balliffs LOL.

Okay, more like 17 years than 'a few' years, time passing faster at my age being the excuse.custard wrote:a few?Lounge Lizard wrote:usually the older ones who well remember up to a few years ago when you knocked on the door with a surcharged item and collected the money there and then.bensonhedge wrote:gotta love those ones who come charging down the street after you waving their surcharge card!!

Following changes in the method of collecting money due on unpaid or underpaid mail the use of postage due stamps was restricted from April 1995 to mail addressed to business customers and to Customs / VAT charges levied by the Royal Mail on behalf of the Customs and excise. The use of postage due stamps ceased on 28 January 2000.

Re: The general public, don't you just love them ?
I had a good one today. I was leaving an address when I saw a woman running down the road waving a 739. She was yelling that she was in and that I hadn't knocked - the usual stuff. I looked at the 739 and saw that it was from the adjoining postcode. I tried explaining but she wasn't having it. "You were just driving down my road!" "Yes, I was, to get to this one, which is a different postcode to your road"
She then said she was going to call the number on the card and complain about me. Should be interesting.

I staged a Roger Moore impersonator festival in my local village. There were a lot of eyebrows raised, I can tell you.
