Trialling new dog warning cards.

We're going to be trialling addressed dog warning cards. These go in your frame daily, are bundled up with the mail but not delivered. Each time you get to a property with a dog, you will have that reminder. An excellent idea all round but even more so for reserves and floaters. Apparently it was trialed somewhere in Wales and it proved to be very successful. We were told today that our office has one of the worst records for dog bites and this trial will be monitered at the top level of management. Just wondering if any other offices have tried this ?.

I'd like to see the card - who hasn't misdelivered a redirection or keepsafe card in the past - I can only suggest that it could cause some problems if a homeowner who has a dog getting a badly worded card in reference to his beloved pet.

It justs warns you there is a dog at this property, not that you will get savaged.

I think like most of RMs initiatives the theory can sometimes be sound and valid. However, its the implementation in a tick box culture tends to be where it fails.
I have approx 60+ dogs on my duty of which about 7 have warning cards. Why because the manager does not want to record them unless they prove themselves to be dangerous, despite me pointing out that after the fact is not much good.

I have therefore used the "paws" sign on every single one of my dog addresses so that the cover guys at least know they are there and are prepared. Under this card system would I have a card for every one of my 60+ dogs and would they all be assessed as to their level of threat if so that 60 odd extra cards, more if they have spares for when they are posted by accident, or when the cut off/pouched off ones don't come back.

What happens if the dog (bitch) has 9 puppies, do you have to take 10 cards out, 11 cards if the boyfriend dog lives there

Is that first card a joke, as the enter at your own risk been added ?. If I come face to face with a card like that I will not even attempt to make the delivery. The other card is OK and would of saved two finger tips in our office in the last year

I think it was RM's attempt at making the cards more visually stimulating than the old DAL cards although it wouldn't surprise me if their solicitors dragged it up at an ET.
