Cutting off

Cut off the last 2 days due to workload caused by lack of manpower due to sickness/ holidays, days off etc. My boss went ape today but wouldn`t even consider reasons why it happened. All about getting mail out was closest to a response I got. Also I`ve done duties I aint familiar with and claimed overtime due to unfamiliarity and this keeps getting seriously looked at. I`m part time, enjoying it but get really pissed off when I can`t just be left alone to get on with it. Not had time for break either..

Welcome to the temp part time world. My DOM said if I keep cutting off I would find my contract "probably wont be renewed" because no one else in the office does it and it's those who will stay. (we're a small office). To be fair if they did sack me because I refused to work for free I'd be straight to the newspapers.

You DO have time for your break! You may not have time to complete but a break is a right by law and cannot be refused!

Do what I do and ask him to put it in writing.

There is always time for paid break as a postie... And don't forget about the extra 10 minutes entitlement at 5/7/9 etc. hours as a part-timer on any given day above the standard 20 minutes.
