Re: ill health pay off
i got mine a week after my last working day, (so the first friday of my freedom).
I'd recomend anyone thinking of Ihr to get in quick, once the privatisation wheels start turning they'l probably change the payment amount.
(and not for the better)

Re: ill health pay off
I think my husband will be given ill health pay off but we are worried it will not be enough to meet our expenditure. he has worked for Royal Mail for 35yrs. We are also worried that he will go onto half pay before they offer ill health retirement. Would any of you mind sharing your experience? My husband is ill through stress at work and grievence procedures are ongoing but Im dealing with them because he is unstable!

Re: ill health pay off
they have been trying to get me out for the past 18 months on IHR
its all right people saying take it but you need to look to the future
in my case i am 48 years of age and the payment will not last very long and most jobs are only minimum wage now.
only you can decide what is right for you, if you stay will the condition you suffer from be degenerative, can you live on minimum wage, do you have any savings,
but your long term health must take precedence
you cant make a decision like this on the spur of the moment, write down all your options, positive and negative
and do not let royal mail bully you into IHR
its your decision

1) Carrying out his/her current duties
2) Carrying out such other duties for the employer as the employer might reasonable expect the member to perform.
The total payment for any individual with over 1 year service will be a minimum of 43 weeks up to a maximum of 52 weeks, I hope this is of some help to you in your dilemma.

Re: ill health pay off
May I clear up the misunderstanding, 34 weeks wages + 12 weeks PILON + 6 weeks A/L if applicable = 52 weeks paykeithposty wrote:its 34 weeks wages
